Toronto-Montreal
Edmonton-Calgary

Philly should be getting good soon enough to reignite the Pittsburgh-Philadelphia rivalry.

And off the wall: Vegas and Arizona tear into each other in a battle for the basement

Haha...Torontonians wish.

It'll be Edmonton-Calgary all over again.

Torontonian's? Lol like oilers fans aren't just as obsessed with the leafs.

Besides, the only rivalry between EDM/TO will be between the fanbase. As for the teams, it's gonna take more than just 2 meetings in the regular season to ignite rivalry, unless of course they meet in the Stanley Cup Final

My Gusses:

Philly/NJ
Toronto/Buffalo
Ottawa/Boston
Las Vegas/Ducks
Las Vegas/Kings

Buffalo-Toronto is going to come back into fashion in the next few years. Too many parallels for two division rivals not to start getting chippy.

Well... buffalo-toronto was the only game where we saw marner jump a guy and matthews throw punches

So it's a start!

The closest right now is the Battle of Alberta i would say. Both teams are becoming contenders at around the same time and both seem keen on entering into an arms race to try and one up the other as we have seen Calgary try to tighten the gap between them and the Oilers by acquiring Smith and Hamonic

Wouldn't 98% of the bad blood between Pittsburgh and Columbus disappear as soon as you eliminated Torts and Dubinsky though?

Possible. But those two are the perfect duo to start a rivalry with anyone. It'll be up to younger Jackets to carry on the dbag tradition haha.

The time for Battle of Alberta has passed for now, gotta wait for Edmonton to rebound from their inevitable regression next season.

New Jersey and Philladelphia has a chance to be re-ignited with the Hischer/Patrick. It used to be a real good rivalry during the Stevens/Lindros days when the Devils and Flyers were always the 2 top teams in the division.

Edit - Wow crazy stat. From 1995 - 2011, the Atlantic Division only had one champion other than the Devils or Flyers (2008 Penguins)
