I think all that salmon has killed your taste buds. The only good black licorice is the little bit of taste you get in Sambuca, which is only used in espresso. Otherwise it's inedible.

Fun fact: In France, licorice flavored toothpaste & gum is pretty much just as common as mint flavored. It's just awful.

There's an Italian company that makes licorice mint toothpaste as one flavor too. It's horrifying. My SO when I lived there used it and I still have nightmares.

Uh-oh, my Spider-sense is telling me a discussion on the definition of "candy" is coming.

Ok, I'll start...#'s 6 & 7 are not candy bars, but ice cream. If it cannot be bought with the rest of the candy at the , it is not candy. Just my humble opinion.

EDIT: Let me clarify since a lot of candy can't be bought at the checkout stand. If it's not with the rest of the candy and you have to go to the freezer....not candy....to me...YMMV

I don't think I have eaten sardines, and can't imagine what would make me want to, but something that is really nice - way moreso than you would think - is Swedish herring. Sometimes it comes with mustard sauce, as Westrn was saying above, and it is pretty decent, especially if you are slightly hammered.

Nope. Most sardines are gutted but the skin and bones are edible. I believe you can buy some varieties skinless and boneless though.

I love sardines, but actually prefer the canned smoked oysters

Yeah, those are the bomb too. I wouldn't really think of them as candy, but I guess they are, at least partially.

I remember getting Lemonheads all the time as a kid when my brother and I would go to the Boy's Club during the summer. Those and I think they also sold Alexander the Grape's there as well....Yum!
