Yeah, but he was in the 1st and last episode.

Otherwise it was just Mando carrying the baby around saving settlements.

Droids played a bigger part IMO in the movies, I mean R2D2 literally saved Luke hundreds of times in the movies. And again Mando specifically says he hates droids meaning they play a reduced part in the show which sucks.

I will continue to insist the Disney sequels were not that bad, especially RoS which received an unfair amount of hate.

Although they were all good if you want to give 8 a numerical ranking it would be 80.0 or around that range. Too lazy to make a ranking scale.

I wasn't joking. I think The Last Jedi is the most interesting film of the whole lot (if not the best/most fun, which is still Empire). That being said, I hate RoS with a passion! And you have 6 twice in your ranking.

The movies were somewhat more compelling and had more interesting characters who were not one-episode throwaways. In addition the movies had more semblance as Rey and friends did hop around the galaxy, but you didn't have to wait until next week to see what crazy wacky adventure they'd be up to next or what "civilization" they'd save (a repetitive theme of Mandalorian). And best of all the movies had droids. The Disney movies for instance brought us BB8, the lovable rolling droid. What kind of droid exists in Mandalorian? Mando specifically says he hates droids. There's one in the first and last episode of S1 but he was reprogrammed. Meanwhile, even the sassy fem bot from Rogue One was somewhat interesting if not a bit annoying with the rhetoric.

Agreed on your take on The Mandalorian's structure. And I'm also a fan of the droids. The one in Rogue One might actually be my favorite, or the triangular one that has a minor role in the sequel trilogy, the hyperexcited one...

The last 3 are the disney movies in order.

Agreed. I want to like The Mandalorian because I'm a big Star Wars guy but it's very slow paced and tough to watch. In the movies at least there are multiple storylines going on. In the Mandalorian it's just Mando. Every episode he goes on an adventure saving some settlement (a recurring theme) which gets old. In the meantime the movies did a better job of writing IMO and had better objectives so to speak.

Even the worst SW movie is better than the Mandalorian IMO.

You're going too far! :)

The worst SW film to me is Part 2 and I could watch the Mandalorian take a dump in his helmet for 40 minutes and it would be way better.

But I get what you mean.

I didn't know Taika Waititi voiced the droid in season one. He is the kind of guy who would probably kill directing a Star Wars movie.

On a lighter note, I think that I may know who's been waiting in the shadows to take Cara Dune's place:

Lucasfilm cancelled him already. AND ALL HE DID WAS STAND!

They already announced at the investors meeting in December that Waititi was going to direct a Star Wars film that would come out in December 2025.

So apparently there is some chatter that Pedro Pascal wants off the show? When they announced that he was cast on The Last of Us it was made clear that TLoU had 1st dibs on him for whatever shooting times they want. The rumblings are that Pedro was unhappy and was using it as a way to strong arm his way out. Same rumours also thought he might have been unhappy because of a certain presence that is will no longer be an issue, so maybe that helps. He's rarely actually the one in the suit anyway, so I guess worst case Ontario they just record his audio in a booth and call it a day.

Oh, and the order is obviously

The prequels are just unwatchable. Despite the obvious flaws in the new ones at least they bring something to the table each time.

TCW and RO have the best depiction of droids.

I like this order and could live with it. I'd lower 4 a little, probably would put 6 above 7, and certainly would get 9 in the unwatchable category too, but really just minor tweeking. Oh, and I love worst case Ontario.

This feels like that other similar rumor where Pedro was so angry about not being able to take off his helmet that he got into a fight and was kicked off the set and that half of season 2 was not even going to include the Mandalorian?

In other words, i don't buy it.

Whether you agree with Gina or not, she is a TERRIBLE actor. Addition by subtraction. Don't like her position, but I never liked her character or performance before finding about her views. Her character is bland and as one dimensional as her acting as well, the show can do better than Cara Dune.

Mandolorian needs to do a better job of having better supporting characters that are accompany him, he needs to have characters to develop with. He honestly needs a crew, starting with Migs.

Yes - thank you. I loved the premise of the Mandalorian (space bounty hunter - gave me Firefly and Cowboy Bebop vibes), but could only get through about 6 or 7 episodes of season 1 because of how bad the acting was on the show. Gina has the look, but she absolutely cannot act, and the right look is absolutely secondary to acting ability.

Basically what we need is a Knights of the Old Republic/Rogue One plot arc. Spend a season picking up crew one at a time through various encounters, and then subsequent seasons are about the crew as a whole.
