Prospect/player development here is the problem, guaranteed. The oilers can't even develop pictures on a digital camera they're so useless.

If a guy was an undercover agent for the Canucks secretly trying to draft the worst possible player for the oilers at every turn there's no way he could possibly avoid picking a few guys who would turn into nhl'ers if they were given proper development.

Look at what passes for "coaching" here. The Oilers brass never even noticed twenty guys getting worse overnight when they hired Eakins. They just started trading guys right away and they're still doing it. If MacT worked for Ferarri he would have fired Michael Schumaker and put Lee Fogolin behind the wheel and then he would start changing mechanics and paint schemes when they stopped winning.

Honest question here....if we were willing to trade all our picks in 2015 from rounds 2-7 what could we get from a team like LA, Anaheim, Montreal, SJ?

I mean whats the point using them ourselves honestly? Lets give them to an LA or Montreal that knows what to do with them.

Looking at forwards drafted since 2009, 10 other teams have 10 or fewer goals produced. 17 other teams have 20 or fewer goals produced. I don't think 7 goals from non-1st rounders is ideal but it's not way off the norm.

Thanks for some perspective. Edmonton's drafting has been bad but other teams haven't been much better. The issue is that our FA and trade acquisitions have also been horrendous for the most part.

More than half the teams in the league have found a diamond in the rough in the second round or later.
