Wedgewood f***ed us on that third goal with some help from smith and his dumb passing. Hey, at least smith had two assists on the night for Columbus. We deserved that game and got f***ed by defense and goaltending again.

Mercer is good, his line was amazing, Hischier could’ve been better in the first picked it up after.

As bad of a loss as that was, I can’t even get that down considering how ridiculously good Dawson Mercer looks.

I wanted to pick that whole line as the 3 stars but Dougie had to get one too. He is amazing.

I think leaving the first unit out for the 5-on-3 was a mistake, they were gassed. Worst case is the 2nd unit burns down the 5-on-3, and you can put the first unit back out there to finish the last 60-70 seconds of the 5-on4.

We played good for 2.5 periods. Wedge cant make a save after Ty makes a stupid bonehead play trying to flip puck up middle and cbj capitalizes on takeaway to tie 3-3 with like 6 min left.

Then we get a PP and then another PP with 35 seconds of overlapping 5v3.. With 3 mins left. Total fail.

OT generated stuff but no one deciseicely took good open shot.. Except for hamilton.


Wedge cant stop final shooter in so...game over. Our fwds hit pads.

I was mad a hell. Lol! very frustrating way to lose a reasonably decent game.

Positives:
- Loved that we outshot the BJs. I feel like the Devils have been on the losing side of that ledger most of the last few years.
- Bratt was just fantastic.
- I'm not as down on Nico. I think he makes lots of good little passes and defensive plays. I saw a bunch tonight including another feed to Hamilton that was not a goal.
- Mercer and Johannson are really surprising to the upside
- Coincidentally with the BJs, I would love to see Shara progress to Oliver Bjorkstrand. I think they have a similar skillset.
- That Zacha pass to Nico...holy smokes. I think that line is going to really kick some butt eventually. Tatar is really hard to dispossess.
- I'm just pretty happy with this game despite the outcome. I mean relative to that Calgary debacle. Woof.
- Severson and Smith have really been the odd pairing this year, which I would not have guessed.

All three of them had great games. I liked Graves' game also, as well as Zacha's and Nico's. Overall the team played real good. Disappointing when we know that if Bernier or MacBlack was in net, we win this game. Great effort overall though, and a point. So yeah, onto Anaheim!

Is it too much to ask for ONE save out of either the first goal, the third goal or on Voracek in the shootout? The first two shooters missed.

At least I'm back in my element again and back to normal. I haven't bitched this much about a hockey or a goalie in like 2 years or more.

I'm in the same position as you. This game for some reason frustrates the hell out of me. Not because of the effort and play (which were great), but because if Bernier is in we win, no doubt in my mind. The first and third goals were stoppable. Bernier stopped like 4-5 high danger chances last night it seems. Anyways, I'm good with the effort, and i hope they come out storming against Anaheim, which I believe, is not better than us at all.

Tatar has been getting a pass, but he isn't playing well. Yegor has been a total mess.

Nico ended up playing a pretty good game. Zacha too

Dougie, Mercer, Johnsson, Bratt were all fantastic. Smith, Wedgewood and recchi should be taken out back and whipped.

That forecheck when he beat the d-man to the puck, and then puts his back up to create space was reminiscent of early rookie season Bratt.

Has really responded since the benching.

Devils should won it but jackets did deserve. Hard working win for them. I don’t like how Smith and Severson did play, others were pretty good. 3 points in back to back is a good result.
