The fact that it’s chat field being called up leads me to believe tanev isn’t seriously hurt . I don’t see them playing chatfield. Maybe tanev misses a few games and we get benn in.

No, he needs to be out 10 games and 24 days.

Assuming his assignment to the IR is backdated to February 23rd, the March 18th Tampa game would be the soonest he can return.

I'm guessing this is in response to re-evaluating his knee. To qualify, the team must expect that he'll miss at least 10 games and 24 days in the season, and he's missed 8 games now. Looks like in doing so they got back to $30k below the cap, so maybe it was also in response to Brock coming back? I don't recall Brock being on LTIR though.
