Lehner's numbers aren't even really that good...

Granted, playing for a lesser team, but still.

Don't look purely into numbers with goalies, so many variables contribute to GAA, SV%. Lehner is young, and big. Lot of talent there.

3.02 gaa and 9.05 sv% last year and he gets a 1st. Oh, but he's 23 years old. Great, he can suck for longer.

“@HartnettHockey: If the Sens are able to get the 21st pick from BUF for Lehner and Legwand, Rangers should be able to get a first-rounder for Talbot + Klein.”

If the Buffalo deal happens, the price goes up for Talbot. The Rangers are getting a #1 pick out of it.

Also, Lehner's contract situation is really good. His cap hit is just over $2 AAV for 2 more seasons and he becomes a RFA when his contract is up. Plus, he's only 23, it's not as bad as it initially seems.

Lehner hasn't impressed me at all. He looks like Cloutier out there. A hothead that lets in a lot of softies.

Have fun in Buffalo.

I think that's kind of a silly comment. If the Rangers were offered multiple 2nd round picks for Talbot alone, then wouldn't Talbot + Klein have gotten them a 1st even before this?

Land of no calls..
Of the teams bidding on Talbot, Buffalo had the lowest 1st to offer. SJ, Edm, Cgy and Dal all have higher firsts than 21.

To me this means a 1st is on the table for Cam or Cam+.

If we are trading both Talbot and Klein together, I want 9th overall from SJ. Klein isn't a cap dump. Talbot should get 16th overall from Edmonton on his own.

Depends on who you ask.

Ottawa was pretty bad for a lot of this season. But he was part of the reason why. Makes me optimistic on what the Rangers can do.

So much for B.Murray thinking he'd get bad value for his goalie.

Anyways, this bodes well for the Rangers. I think comparable value would be Talbot + Glass for 16th

It's highly suspicious that a team chooses an old, injury prone Anderson and flash-in-the-pan Hammond over the 23 year old #1 goalie in waiting.

#9 would be an excellent return.

Bryan Murray--Ottawa GM Tim Murray--Buffalo GM and Bryan's nephew.

Anyway not a big fan of Lehner's. Yes he's big and he's got talent. OTOH it was expected for at least a year that he'd take Craig Anderson's job but that never happened and in the meantime he was displaced by Andrew Hammond in the Senators pecking order and he wasn't good last year.
