The Coyotes are terrible and can't score

We've epitomized playing well without actual results. The SOG count has been very lopsided but we now have 2 goals on 164 shots. We've also been shut out in 3 of our first 4 games. What gives? I don't even understand anymore.

I don’t see nearly enough of them to diagnose the problem, but I have to say it’s really perplexing how the Coyotes seem to spin their wheels year after year.

It’s simple enough to say they’ve had a lot of missed draft picks, but it seems like scouting can only explain just so much. In their past decade of 1st rounders only OEL has become the player people expected. Are they rushing guys in too fast or not giving them enough support off the ice or something? I don’t know.

At least they are among the teams that let in the fewest amount of goals but I guess they couldn't even buy the goal since they don't have money.

If the draft lottery wasn't rigged they would have a shot a Hughes this year.
Sure, the league wants Arizona to fail after they've propped them up for years like weekend at Bernie's. The draft lottery is closely watched to make sure there's no mucking around. This isn't some bush league lottery like the Stern era NBA.

I was mostly joking.

Still I can't imagine that its in the Leagues interest to have the Coyotes as a top team that goes on deep cup runs regularly. That would be terrible for the TV raitings. They would want them to be a stable bubble team that exits in the first round of the playoffs, if they make it to the postseason. The League would probably also prefer that the most marketable (young) star players stay away from that market. In the end it comes all down to whats good for buisiness.

They're just missing goal scorers. Last year they had only one guy who hit 20 goals for in Keller. That didn't change . I guess they have to hope Galchenyuk and Dvorak break through for them when they come back. The veterans in the team also look extremely disinterested.

As a Stars fan i'm also confused why they have 3 former Dallas D-men from an era when Dallas was terrible at defense in Goligoski , Demers and Connauton. Especially Demers and Goose and their contracts thats just not a good idea.

This comment makes zero sense when you consider the Edmonton Oilers keep winning the draft. Arizona is a far bigger market. The NHL has invested so much $ in propping them-up. They'd need the Coyotees to win that draft far more than Edmonton (Who sell out 100% of their games even when dead-last). Arizona will only draw people if they win.
The NHL would never fix the draft. Bettman would lose so much money, have his HHOF stripped-away and his legacy is ruined. It is 100% legit every year.
Besides, no one forced them to take Strome in one of the great drafts ever. They may not have won the lottery, but they have had a lot of top 10 picks, They should be far better.

How has Strome been looking for you guys? Is he just taking longer to come along or is he headed in a bad direction?

Atleast Edmonton has McDavid to get all our goals
I have honestly never seen a team be that much better with one player on the ice than Edm right now. I have watched all three Edm games this season and last night as a NYR fan you are scared every time McJesus is on the ice. Never really get nervous with him off the ice.
