Careful here- the Biden campaign to me is not placing much emphasis on health care reform. Check out his campaign page-

Joe's Vision – Joe Biden for President

Health care is located in a conveniently easy to scroll over section of the page. The clear forefront, breadwinner issues right now are all related to Coronavirus and business.

And Biden is campaigning on increased access to affordable health insurance. Not universal health care. Not state funded health care. The DNC is still loyal to the health provider corporations that are paying the bills and the mansions.

It falls far short imo.

Yes, for sure. But incremental progress is still progress, and has to be preferable to an option B that wants to undo the progress that was made in the past.

This is demonstrative of how the “both sides are the same so you should just stop paying attention” rhetoric serves the republicans so well. They may not be perfect, or in some cases even very good, but there’s a world of difference between the two sides.

On the other hand, incremental change is not enough. COVID has shown what people like Sanders were clamoring on about forever- no deadline is too soon when it comes to health reform.

I think health reform is needed, not incremental change. But we're not into "both sides are the same territory", we're into Chomsky vs Hedges intra-left debate

I don’t think it’s enough either, but I think there’s only one side that has any possibility of surveying the situation and delivering the change needed, and only one side that has voices within that are calling for what is needed.

It’s well and good to support Sanders and sit out the election on principle, but you’re more-or-less effectively voting for Trump at that point.

I mean Antifa and what they stand for at its core...

That may be loaded but I have an open home so I am going to go now...
Lumping together the far left and far right in North America is the laziest kind of easy generalization. One has no political power and the other is literally in charge of the highest levels of the US government, and ever since their saviour came to power they've been steadily dismantling all the checks and balances that keep lunatic whackos from taking over. I mean ffs, Trump's favourite hobby is firing anyone in the US bureaucracy that oversees anything he does.

I’m certain we are gonna get shutdown on this conversation pretty fast but since no one is willing to make hf moonshine with me I’ll jump in here on this discussion.

If you assume the political power is equally split 50/50 the issue becomes that the breakdown is something like this if I’m understanding everyone correctly

right leaning voters -
50% regular
30% religious conservative
20% alt right now nazis.

left leaning voters
60% regular
38% Bernie sanders socialist
2% antifa and further left

So to say the far left and far right are equal is wrong based on actually policy making power.
