In the USA prospects game, Tkachuk and Max Jones looked good, but they are considered top 10 picks so hopefully they will be gone before we pick.

Luke Kunin, 6'0, LW, was the best player in the game and currently ranked as a 2nd rounder. Fast, smart, hustled, good vision, good shot. Small sample size of course, but he looked good.

Chad Krys, 5'11, D, looked like a good offensive D. Fast, smart, good puck skills. Ranked mid 1st atm.

Nick Pastujov, 6'0, LW, looked very quick, skilled and agile. He's from Bradenton, FL. Ranked late 1st.

JD Greenway, 6'4, D, showed good skills in the first period, but kind of disappeared after that. Ranked mid 2nd atm.

Here it sounds like Lightning scout had a pretty high opinion on Dmitriy Sokolov:

"His willingness to learn our language was a good thing, and many scouts have complimented him on his backtracking, and makes him proud as punch," Matsos said. "The Tampa guy said he can't believe how much he cares about defence now, and that made him smile.

"All the scouts also said they liked him even more because of his personality," Matsos said. "He's a genuine, sincere individual and he left them with better impression than when they started."

this is first time im ever saying this WE MUST MOVE UP somehow is two guys would kill for

deeply want logan brown desperately would really like patrik laine also if have to will take julien gauthier but man im impressed with brown all three of these guys have huge size

sukolov would be interesting but is hard to tell exactly what he is right now because of how terrible a team he played for good stats for how bad that team is lol

seems like a goal scorer nice weight willing to play defense learn the language so ya interesting have to ignore the minus 40 when team is that dreadful

ya laine can go anywhere in top 11 i got him all over by different scouts I have him going second myself

I don't see him dropping more than #5 and it would be a heavy fall. That guy is going to score a lot of goals in the NHL.

The only players I would draft ahead of him are Matthews and Puljujarvi

What? Puljujarvi isn't close to Laine, it's Matthews, Laine then the rest, he's going 2.

How do we have #27? I thought the Cup winner gets 30, runner up gets 29, and then the rest of the playoff losers are slotted based on regular season standings? We should be like 22 or 23.

If Arizona doesn't sign Bleackley this week then they get #53 so the rest of the picks fall one.

At 27 it's hard to say since someone might drop, hopefully Rubstov, but I'd look at Tage Thompson for UConn. Kids 6'5 we need size and he has some nice skills too, probably goes back to college another year then we'll hopefully sign him so a lot closer than most late 1sts.

The final draft order is determined by the Stanley Cup playoffs. Whichever team wins the Stanley Cup is awarded the last (30th) overall pick of the draft while the runner up is awarded the 29th. The teams eliminated in the conference finals are awarded the 27th and 28th overall picks, with the 28th pick going to the team with the better regular season record.

The 26th to 15th spots in the draft are then filled, first by the remaining division winners, then by whichever teams are left. In both situations, the team with the better regular season record will pick later in the draft.
Same as 2011 when we picked Namestnikov 27th. San Jose as the loser of the WCF went 28th.
