TB trades up to take Ben Thomas from Calgary. Was Sanheim's D partner. Righty, 2-way. A lot of props coming into the year. Fell a bit.

Thomas is a nice pick here, especially if he can get back to where he was coming into season. RLR compares to Cody Franson, which is nice.

Notes on Thomas: Falling, sanheim's partner, first pass good, skater, future No. 5, shows flashes, doesn't get enough from tools...

… / RLR mechanical, tends to telegraph plays / TSN skating good, hits, desire is there, potential is there.

Thats kinda what I thought it would be. Not a big fan of trading 2 5ths, but its all a crap shot that late in the draft.

I think it's good value when some scouts had him pegged as a 3rd rounder. Still have our 7th, so it's all good.

But so much potential. Good hands, good vision, can be molded. This late in the round is worth it though.

He looked really good for Russia at the Super Series. Didn't make their WJC team. Undersized winger, but super talented offensively. Crossed the pond midseason to the Q where he plays with Barbashev in Moncton.

Another guy in addition to Tkachev, MAttsson and Kase who is free falling is Gavin Bayreuther.

6'1 defender who is 20 years old and was PPG in the NCAA as a rookie. I mean how often does that happen ?!?
