Thanks guys, I've kept it a secret from him as to why we're up here. I wonder when he'll catch on. I don't think he know what STC from watching games

I hope youve got a camera with you so we can see his face too :) And I hope they give him a game to talk about all the way home.

If it's anything like our normal games, I imagine the video will look something like this:

I'm heading to the game Saturday and I've got a few questions. Where is a good place to park? When do the doors open? What's a real good family place to eat?

The best place to park is at the Casino Queen on the East Side, which is free, and ride the train to the arena. Something like five bucks round trip, and no fighting the traffic to get out of downtown STL after the game.

He had a blast even though we lost. We were standing in line at the gates before I told him what we were doing. He was into the let's go blues chant big time!

We got pucks flipped to us by Cole and Roy. It was great for him to be literally inches from Steen and Oshie. The look on his face when he made the connection that these are the guys from TV and the video games.

So say Stastny resigns in Colorado. Who then do we look at? Right now I'm thinking Legwand and Grabovski are guys on the short list there.

Plekanec would be my next choice assuming he makes UFA. Doug has mentioned both by name so I think he's going big game hunting this summer. I would settle for Grabovski for the quotes alone. It's like having Borat playing hockey for your team.

Plekanec is signed through 2017.

I imagine that Legwand is going to sign an extension in Detroit, even if he doesn't I doubt we'll complete with the silly contracts he'll get despite being 33. I think we would certainly have some interest in Grabovski, but with Laich being a shadow of his former self I can see the Capitals paying up to keep Grabo.

A trade is probably the most likely route. I keep saying it, but Stastny comes down to whether the Avs are comfortable giving him $6m for 7 years with a full NMC... if they aren't then he'll be going to UFA.

We really don't have all the much to trade for a center. Our prospect pool and picks the next few years are pretty thin. Most centers that we have the assets to trade for would be really close to Berglund's level. Rattie or Jaskin pretty much would be the starting point for a center. With a true number 1 center would have teams asking for Schwartz or Tarasenko plus.

Hitch on missed shots: "You asked me that question 6 weeks ago & it was a concern 6 weeks ago. Not much has changed. Yeah, it's a concern."

Love when Hitch gets sarcastic with dumb questions from our reporters.

I know Im just tinkering, but why not put Ott up with Backes when Steen gets healthy? Then you can put Schwartz and Steen together on the 2nd line to create a little scoring depth.

Do not breakup SOB. We get Tarasenko back in the playoffs and our scoring will be fine with Schwartz-Sobotka-Tarasenko and Berglund back on the 3rd line. Who cares about scoring during the rest of the regular season games, they aren't important.

Good news: there's virtually 0 chance we'll play LA in the first round.

Bad news: we'll more than likely play Dallas. I was hoping for Minnesota.

Blues clinched home ice in the first round last night, just another formality out of the way. As for who that opponent is...

Wild (90 points) Remaining Games
Penguins
@ Jets
Bruins
Blues
Predators

Stars (85 points) Remaining Games
@ Lightning
@ Panthers
Predators
Blue Jackets
Blues
@ Coyotes

Coyotes (85 points) Remaining Games
Oilers
@ Blue Jackets
@ Predators
Sharks
Stars

Phoenix have the "easiest" run in, but Dallas has the tie-break advantage and an extra game to play. There is still a good chance that it goes down to that last game in Phoenix.

No way both teams catch Minnesota, but their run in could turn ugly.

Dallas has been fading a bit down the stretch. I wouldn't be surprised if Phoenix can snag that spot from them.

Dallas are the most balanced team we can face, and have the goalie who is most capable of stealing a series. I'd still expect to beat them comfortably.

If Stl can't beat dallas then they deserve a first round exit. The blues have constantly made seguin and benn almost irrelevant. This lengthy not engaged play is what has me worried.

Korac is bad, but Strickland is worst. Especially now since he's on TV...
Disagree. I know people complain about Strickland a lot but he actually has sources and understands the game and the league. Korac has less inside info than every poster on this forum.

Playoff tickets question:

I'm trying to organize the logistics of a long-distance travel covering folks rendezvousing from multiple outside states, school schedule, etc.

Can anyone confirm:
1) playoff schedule won't be announced until April 13th (last day of season?) but I can buy tickets tomorrow even if I don't know what day the actual game is

2) If playoffs start Wed 4/16, I figure the Blues play Game 1 either 16/17 and Game 2 18/19th. I'm pretty sure I can figure out a way to get to Game 2. But if there's no game those days I'm kind of screwed.

Would I be foolish to blindly buy Game 2 tickets and worry about logistics later. I'm guessing I could offload them later if things didn't work out.

Anyone have any insight or suggestions regarding my plan?

Not really. I bought tickets from StubHub already for 50 bucks (high seats) for game 1, which SHOULD be on 16th/17th, as the playoffs start Wednesday(16th) and the Blues will have top seed, so theres no way they won't be playing.
