My money is on NYR followed by NJ. The Kings have done a great job in getting younger over the years, they used to be one of the oldest teams in their cup years.

CA
Rangers followed by New Jersey

I know my fellow Ranger fans don’t want to admit but NJ has the foundation to be good for a while.

Only other teams maybe in consideration would be Edmonton and Buffalo. But both of those franchises have been so dysfunctional for so long, I can’t in good faith put them on the list lol

Rest of the teams sucks and will continue to suck for the foreseeable future

If Buffalo‘s owners every allow them to spend again they could be a true force. They don’t even let them use their hilarious amount of cap space to buy more assets…so….

Youngest team
Most cap space
Top prospect pool

Worst owners

They should have some fun and trade for Pat Kane this deadline.

Rangers are impressively young as a whole, considering how good and veteran-led they are already. Fox and Shesterkin are going to keep them in the running for a long time.

I could see some of these other teams coming up and making a big run, especially Jersey in the immediate term, but if you're placing bets the Rangers are the team that's obviously closest.

New Jersey. They’re the deepest with their core being the youngest. Rangers aren’t doing it and their window is closing due to the ages of Panarin and Kreider. They also don’t develop prospects.
lol at the Rangers window is closing. Old farts, at 31, Kreider and Panarain are clearly close to being washed up.
