Of course they are, Marner is a stud. Pretty much every team in the league should be trying to offer sheet him.

That said, I seriously doubt the Leafs let him go for the 4 1st round pick compensation they'd get. They'll do whatever it takes to move around salary to match any offer sheet and fit him in.

If his priorities were bedsheet related, he would have signed a deal already. It's been reported that he won't sign after Matthews. He's playing out the season. All his actions point to a player who openly wants to maximize the dollar value of their next contract. I don't think your logic works here that he's just a good ol' Toronta boy.

When was the last time this much of top end talent became RFA’s all at once?

Toronto needs to be careful with how close they get to the cap this summer because all it takes is one insane GM to offer more than they can possibly afford.
