lol. he need's to sign it first. doubt he signs one. toronto is his hometown and will be a contender for the next 10+ years. why would he leave for an extra couple million. I'm sure he'll make a ton anyway

You just answered your own question.

If his priorities were bedsheet related, he would have signed a deal already. It's been reported that he won't sign after Matthews. He's playing out the season. All his actions point to a player who openly wants to maximize the dollar value of their next contract. I don't think your logic works here that he's just a good ol' Toronta boy.

If they are preparing an offer sheet for Marner, why wouldn’t they be getting an offer ready for Matthews as well?

When was the last time this much of top end talent became RFA’s all at once?

Toronto needs to be careful with how close they get to the cap this summer because all it takes is one insane GM to offer more than they can possibly afford.
