Great return for NJ.

But in a way, this is Tampa already paying for their next summers cap troubles. I think now with this addition it's pretty much guaranteed Killorn will be gone because he's the only guy up front who has his NTC turn into modified NTC, everyone else are rocking full NTC's.

Got to trade someone to make room for RFA's on the back end and he's the only option. Coleman can play a similar role at 1/3 of Killorn's salary next year.

Tampa will recoup some of the value given up here by trading Killorn.

New Jersey probably wanted to trade with a team like Tampa that uses analytics and understands the immense value Coleman adds to your lineup, especially at that cap hit for another year. Most of the clueless GMs in the league would have just looked at Coleman's basic point totals and balked at this asking price (and, alternatively, if the Devils were being run by a clueless GM they would have done the same thing and set the price too low). Great trade for both teams.
