Didn’t Tavares have an oblique injury that made his skating stride look like Jason Allison’s father a couple of years ago? Not an amazing sign if you’re looking for a leaner, meaner and more mobile version of him.

Get well soon, Captain.

I'm not too worried about this, overall. The team won't struggle too much with him out for a little while. And I still think JT is going to have a solid season coming up.

Dubas better keep one extra guy on the roster for the job as Ferryman to Robidas Island. Looks like it might be a full-time job.

Team is getting older .. back and stomach issues to be expected .. rest is really only remedy

We should have moved up in draft last year and got a true centre with speed .. minten is a winger in waiting

Seems the team is falling apart. Did they sit around all summer drinking beer and eating wings. Now it’s time to work and they fall apart

We start the season as underdogs.

  • Pierre Engvall - non-serious foot injury that will keep him out for most of camp
  • Timothy Liljegren - hernia surgery on the Friday before camp started
  • Joseph Woll - injury lingering from last season
  • John Tavares - oblique strain announced today, will keep him out for at least three weeks
  • Adam Gaudette - shoulder injury announced Monday, considered day-to-day
Jake Muzzin - hasn’t practiced due to back soreness, but is expected to join in a limited way on Wednesday

You don't draft someone in the 20's and 30's to replace John Tavares.

Plus, Minten is a pure center.

A crazy thought here -- people get injured all the time while training.

I don't understand the vitriol on someone just getting injured. Sometimes it just happens.
Sure a person could get injured during training but we are up to 3 already and camp has just begun. Seems kinda high to me or is this just bad luck like our last 6 playoffs

Are you saying you think injury luck and playoff failures are somehow compareable? lol

Liljegren and Tavares, both pretty short term, are not serious problems for this org right now. Remember when it was Matthews wrist and we weren't sure when it would heal? That's when the alarm bells go off.
