I think Laporte wants to leave from some of the rumbling. Garcia, for whatever that's worth, is gone. If you figure you have Stones, Dias and Ake, I think there's a lot of matches for Ramos to come in and play. He likely sees himself as playing the more difficult matches over Stones, and likely would be 3rd choice for most of the time at worst.

If you're City, you could sell Laporte for a good amount of money, and just have to pay for Ramos' salary.

He was way too immature for a big club move in 2015. It happens. Not everyone’s the same.
Yep, I think it's impressive that he turned it around. There's been plenty of players with top quality talent like Memphis who went too big too early and never recovered. I'm happy to see that he didn't just tank out like a lot of those guys.
