Sure wish we had traded Raymond after his 'breakout' season.

You are familiar with "Buy low sell high", aren't you? If you get a return for a 40 goal scorer Kesler, and he only scores 30 the rest of his career, you won the trade.

So then we should have traded Kesler after his 75 point season? If we had done that, we would have never made the Stanley Cup Finals. Your analysis is very black and white, there are many variables. Why would we have traded Raymond after his break out season when we were in dire need of top 6 wingers?

I'm just saying there is nothing wrong with selling high on a player. Bender is an autist who things we wanted to trade Kesler for scraps. That never happened

I agree there shouldn't be a controversy. We have a goalie who is young, cheap, talented and comes with great credentials. Luongo can pack his bags any time.

Heck, I don't mind constantly churning these goalies into top ten 1st round picks. Who's next? Eriksson?

How was it a "brutal post"? He had to take a shot from distance on his backhand...it was just bad luck that it didn't go in.

Brutal luck* on the post. Didn't phrase that properly, my bad.

Although for a 7M dollar player who has the skills to win the accuracy contest at the All-Star game, it'd be nice if one of our supposed leaders could not choke to finish on an empty net. If this keeps happening I'd look at stripping Daniel of his A and giving it to someone with actual empty net finish like Booth. :sarcasm:

I think the last great 'empty net' specialist we had on the team was Demitra. Rest in peace Pavol.

Looked like a boring game from the small parts I caught. Hopefully Lack continues to play well but I'm not looking forward to the inevitable Lu vs Lack posts it will bring.

Poor Alberts, can buy a break. Sits in the press box for October and November, finally gets inserted into the lineup due to injuries and gets knocked out.

.932 SV%, 1.74 GAA. Hard to imagine he'll stay anywhere near that, but he's definitely showing that he has potential to be a top tier (or top 10, anyway) starter.

Makes Luongo very very expendable, especially considering their salary differences.

It's still way too early to say much about Lack, but all of the signs are positive.

:shakehead

I guess Quick is expendable in LA too? I guess the Rangers can get rid of Lundqvist now too?

Just a fun fact for you all.... At the end of november... $1 bet on Vancouver making the playoffs would have turned a profit of $33 If they make the playoffs at the end of the year

Who was really offering $33 to $1 on VAN making the playoffs? I call BS.

Poor Luongo. You know how bad he wants to leave a special legacy behind and be seen as this era's Patrick Roy and he might go 5-6 years without even being the best goalie on his own team.

I still think Eddie Lack is the real deal. Has been nothing short of dominant since playing on North American soil. Granted the Canucks are a great team to play behind for a goaltender but the guy just doesn't make mistakes.

Yeah, let's calm down just a bit. The guy has played what? 5 pro games? Bit early to be trading Lu and giving him the job.
