The Blues can't give up a goal scorer for a playmaker, especially an older one.

Plus, what is this shake up myth? Trading from strength to fill a need, okay. Rebuilding or retooling, fine. But when was the last time a team traded one of their best players mid-season to shake things up and it actually did anything positive?

The Blues have actually done a shake up under Armstrong before trading EJ for Shattenkirk and Stewart

No, that was trading from strength because they needed offense and Pietrangelo had emerged as their top right d-man.

That was also ten seasons ago and didn't change much. The Blues still missed the playoffs by a lot that year. How is that a shake up?

Don't see how trading Tarasenko for older player makes sense. Voracek is fine player but don't see this as fit.

It makes perfect sense if you're not trying to rebuild, but instead shake it up.

Remember Weber/Subban? Neither team was trying to rebuild -- just thought it'd be a good change for cornerstones. That's what this trade would be.

I think Tarasenko is far and away the better player in this scenario. Goals come at a premium and Tarasenko is a goal scorer.

Voracek is a great winger but I dont think hes as much of a line driver as Tarasenko. Taking age and everything else into consideration it's a loss for STL. They dont do it.

You don’t like 100 pt Giroux?

Flyers would have to add to jake. But they should to get Tarasenko. He fits better with our team. Jake has never really fit well.

And if Tarasenko is traded for Voracek we will be in the same position as you’re currently in. Tarasenko is a shooter...Voracek is a play maker. I just don’t see a swap to be made when stl doesn’t have another shooter to take the place of Tarasenko.

A 2 year age difference at this point is rather significant. If we are moving core players, it would make sense that we would be building around the next core and wanting to get younger. By moving Tarasenko to get older, no only does it shorten the chance for the current core to figure it out, it also doesn't add to the next core, making it more difficult in the future.
