Trying to figure out the money - Doesn't Mules salary count against the cap until after the 1st day of the season? We would have to either have players on waiver or bring them up from GRG after the 1st day?

Yes, but teams can exceed the cap by 10% during the offseason. They have to be compliant by the start of the regular season (which can involve placing players on LTIR).

People disparage the idea of Stamkos coming here, but frankly, I don't see why he wouldn't. We're close to Toronto, and are a better team. I'm not saying he will, but I don't think it's nearly the long shot people are making it out to be.
