I respect this kid's entrepreneurial spirit, I just find him to be too low brow for my tastes. My first time watching one of his videos in its entirety. My instincts were right to not waste my valuable time on his material as it adds little value.

His "system" is nothing new. Hockey Futures has a similar system, only they further split out each tier. They use numbers and letters, which could be drawn out into a pyramid.

The funny thing about his video is he starts out saying its annoying to rank players and then spends ten minutes RANKING the Leafs prospects. Sure you've got tiers instead of a list to avoid ranking within tiers, but if anything you will have greater debate if a guy is put in tier 3 and others think he's tier 2. The crux of his argument is who wants to debate how to rank guys 12-15, but really, who does that? People with too much time on their hands, that's who.

He lost me at the beginning when he arbitrarily removed certain guys from his pyramid.

My recommendation is to gather some friends over a nice bottle of brandy in the TV house on your estate and just watch the players careers unfold.

Was that sarcasm or a not so subtle jab?

Never been a big fan of the videos but I do enjoy the podcasts along with the Blue and White Pod

I find him hella entertaining and clever!

"J-V aren't ya glad we didn't trade him?!"

"William THREE-lander"

He's got good stuff he says off the fly. It's fun, it's entertaining and it represents how I feel while I'm watching the games.

"And just like that, the Leafs are up 4-1...

...oh no..."

He 100% wants to be taken seriously when it comes to analysis.

His scouting abilities leave much to be desired tho.
95% eye test 4% hero chart 1% dem goals do.

Are you actually an NHL scout? If you are I apologize but if not, being some farmer who takes in hockey games and takes notes for a local team haha doesn't count. He knows enough to make opinions that are right and wrong. Uncanny in the NHL scouting staffs get players wrong as well. I can't stand Dangle but that's his delivery I dislike.

To me you're 95%Hero chart if you know what I mean. Ease er up there bud lol.

dangle's not my cup of tea (at all) but tiering prospects is a good idea (though not a new one).

And I woulda flipped the tiers of Jonsson and Nielsen before the season and I still would now.

I have lots of time for Dangle, love his videos and the podcast but aside from that, this tier system seems like a good way to measure, a bit simple sure, but I like it.
