Stastny vs iginla

Stastny for sure.

Also for those saying Iggy is as physical as he's ever been, he's not. In his prime he would run people over all the time, he's more a sniper now who can stick up for his teammates.

With current contracts and team needs, Iggy. We do not need yet another center. Now if we lose, ROR, then it shifts back to Stastny.

But the point is moot. He did not want to sign here, he wanted to go home to St. Louis.

Pretty sure the poster meant season-to-season wise and not game-by-game wise, which is true. Season by season, Iginla has been more consistent than Stastny and there isn't a single person who can debate otherwise. 12 consecutive 30+ goal season prior to this one not including lockout shortened seasons is the epitome of consistency

Thank you. Before Stastny last year with the Avs we always complained about how much we were paying him. Just because he left the Avs with one of his best seasons doesn't mean we should throw $6M at him. Iggy was the smarter choice. We need all the money we can get our hands on to resign ROR, Mac, and EJ, and improve our D. Signing Stastny for anything above 6 would've been stupid.

Thats nice but he lost almost every puck battle in the corner  as for the question prolly iggy only because Casper has a way of dissapearing when its not a contract year. Funny how that works. He was an absolute ghost against the Wild.

He also scored 5 goals and 5 assists in 7 games in the playoffs against that same wild just a season earlier.

As for the question, I take stastny everyday, all day.
The amount of pressure he takes off of everyone else was truly unheralded. I really think he got unfairly criticized while in Colorado over the last few years. Stuck with a terrible coach in Sacco, and literally had to carry David Jones for 3 straight years.

It may seem like it was just a contract year, but it was also the first year without Sacco, and the first year with good line mates.

Iginla easily.

Stastny's two way game is superb but is offensive output regressed. We have a lot of positive memories from last season, but the number don't lie - most years he will score around 50 points. That's not worth $7 million per season.

Having Staz centering Mack and Landy at the beginning of the season also probably keeps ROR and Dutchy together, possibly averting the incredibly slow start to the season that kept us out of the playoff picture.
