Over Dowling and as a 13/14th forward I'll take it. But like most PTO he will 95% chance get waived so it doesn't really matter.

I’m trying to keep the hype levels low for Hintz, but I can see him turning some heads this year. After his second call up he went from a guy who was fast, but didn’t do much with it to a guy who was dangerous every shift.

I do get where they're coming from though. Hintz was one of the teams best players in the playoffs and dangerous everytime he hit the ice. In game 7 with a broken foot he was the teams best skater . I also think the team needs Roope to keep playing at a high level next year to take a step forward. With the rest of the team and especially the forward core you know what you're getting and where that leads for the Stars ( not very far ) . With Hintz ? Thats still a bit of a wildcard.

Weird piece from Hockey News on most significant RFA on each team. Yes, agree on sentence 1, and first half of 2, but I doubt he has value to any team in the $2M range. What would he get if he was qualified? Also, don't see him being shipped out in the regular season. That would require playing him to up his value, which isn't going to happen, at least IMHO.

Honka is in need of a new home after struggling to be a full-time NHLer over the past few years. He’s not worth a lot right now, but if they can sign him for around $2 million and ship him out during the regular season, the Stars could come out as winners out of this ordeal.

$2 Million for Honka seems a number randomly pulled out of a hat. What exactly has Honka done to deserve 2$ Million while Dickinson who actually made a positive impact got $1.5 Million. Regardless if Dicky took less Honka has to be worth less than him

One site says he has a base of %832,500 with bonus incentives (which I doubt he met) of $500,000. Don't know the current qualifying rules, but would be 110% in the past, or about $916K, unless he has to get $550 in bonuses, too. That would put him at $1.465, which actually still seems to high for him right now, with the sub million number more attractive to teams looking to fill in a no. 7 D many spot.

Maybe they were thinking total value and that he'd get 2 years? Or maybe they've somehow heard that Honka wants 2 years? That's still quite unrealistic, but definitely moreso than him getting a 2M AAV.

That fully healthy season Pitlick had in his first season with us seems like a fluke now. Last year was more in line with his career. Oh well no longer our problem.

You’ve apparently never trained at a high level for any duration.

Yea that's why each team has 4-5 guys coming into training camp injured from their off-season workouts every year.

Pitlick is injury prone, no reason to defend the guy, it's a factual statement. He can't stay healthy.
