I agree that shoot outs aren't real losses.
I dont think you are giving team like the Canucks enough credit. Before last nights game they had more points than the Caps did.

Hot start, played one more game than the Caps. They will be a bottom five team and hoping to move up in the lottery when all is said and done. Their future looks bright for sure though.

Send Burt+ to Edmonton so he can be with his best bud McDavid for Puljujaarvi.

Burakovsky's fine on the 4th line for now. The moment his cap hit becomes untenable is when they should move him, unless an offer to good to refuse presents itself (it won't).

I think the 65-26-23 4th line has looked great though I've lowered my expectations for Bura for a 20 point pace and walking away from the contract. 4th line Corsi has been nuts the last 2 games with him.

HAHA

I remember the chants of HAROLD, HAROLD, long before it became common place to haze our own players. It's amazing the hockey gods finally overlooked that insanity, and let us get our cup.

About Bura the hitting machine... I remember LONG ago, when a scorer was in a slump, they would ramp up the hitting. Do something to make up for the huge void in their game. It was obvious and talked about openly.

I am glad to see Bura nailed someone. Of course, no D is ever expecting a hit from him and like many NHLers now, fail to protect themselves because the chance of them getting hit is close to nil.

As long as he keeps hitting, I am fine with retaining him as scoring depth. Of course, odds say that will be the only memorable hit he will throw all year.

Not sold on Jaskin, but the dude is a solidly built unit. He collides with people and they fall down or fall back, even if he's not moving very quickly.

I am sold. We needed a hitter. That's all we need from him. I am fully convinced that is the sole reason he is here.

Well, and also because Willy's long term availability is in serious jeopardy. It will only take one accidental head knock and he will be gone 40 games more. Or say Willy blows a fuse and forgets he cannot make contact with an opponents head for the rest of his career, and blows up someone while coming to the rescue of a fallen cap.

The world needs ditch diggers too.

Yes, an operating system failure in Willy version 2.0 is a distinct possibility. May be some leftover pugilist code or stray explode-up-into-the-guy programming that is not tied down to the new NHL operating instructions for physicality.

I loved Ovie passing up the hatty and making correct play to Oshie up ahead of him. Selfless play

Ovi has pretty much always done that. He seems to genuinely love teammates scoring as much as he loves scoring himself.

He also reads HFboards and he knew the heat he would get from the adolescents on the mains if he takes the EN for the Hatty :help:

Is it me or Stephenson didn't played that much in the 2nd part of the game?

You would be correct and judging by that game I would understand. He constantly fumbles the puck, misses or chooses not to shoot when he is in prime chances and is just offensively challenged in general.

He still ended up with enough minutes but Silky is most likely correct.

The Pens jury of Crosby and Mario is currently moving the goalposts with bentman as we speak....

Oh yeah. Any chance to complain is a chance neither miss out on. His latest stunt I saw a few times last year is to dive at an oppositions shins/knees pretending to desperately play a puck where he already has position.
