He's more concerned about Evolving Hockey projections and advanced statistics than actual benefit to the team.

The odd thing in this case is that he said Staal is overpaid by $750k for one year, while he's willing to overpay Forbort for $1.5M x 3 years. Even by his own projections, this one completely defies any notion of logic.
