In my time... it might be top-10, if we're just looking at playoffs.

Here's some of my favorites:

1992 Game 7 Destruction of Devils
1994 Game 3 ECF Double OT Matteau
1994 Game 6 ECF Messier Hat Trick
1994 Game 7 ECF Matteau Double OT
1994 Game 4 SCF Bure Penalty Shot
1994 Game 7 SCF Leetch Goal
1994 Game 7 SCF Cup win, obviously
1997 Game 3 ECQF Tikkanen OT Goal that hit the camera
1997 Game 4 ECQF Gretzky Hat trick
1997 Game 5 ECQF Tikkanen OT elimination goal (I really liked that series)
1997 Game 5 ECSF Graves OT elimination goal vs Devils
2007 Game 3 ECSF Roszival Double OT
2008 Game 5 ECQF Chico Resch cries
2012 Game 3 ECSF Gaborik triple OT
2012 Game 5 ECSF Richards ties and Staal wins

Tawnos, you are too modest, suspect you go further back that that.
This isn't 'Logan's Run', you know;)

Too busy to try and remember them all, so I yield to my brethren senior posters, and with apologies for imposing on his busy schedule, suggest we hold off anything in stone before Crease weighs in.

In no way am I diminishing last night, or the '94 cup win.
I recall staying up multiple OTs watching Stemkowski.
That's got to be up there somewhere.

The closest historical comparison, RIGHT NOW, is Stemkowski's triple OT winner in a Game 6 at the Garden vs. Chicago in the semi-finals (1971). That forced a Game 7.

They lost the Game 7.

If this year's team advances, the MSL goal probably trumps that one, and moves closer to Matteau status.

I was thinking the same thing. Stemmers goal was great but they lost the series.

That 1992 goal that's first on the list? Yeah, I was 8. I might know a lot about Rangers history and I've definitely heard a ton of stories from my dad, particularly about the 60s and 70s teams. Maybe that makes it seem like I've experienced more than I have.

It's great but moments like this are really solidified by the events that follow. This goal felt awesome but realistically if they fail to win the 'Cup everyone will probably put it with the Gaborik triple OT rather than the Matteau goal. Honestly part of the reason the Mattaeu goal was so great (aside from lol Fatso, lol Devils, series clinch) was the call on it. Don't expect any epic calls of a Rangers OT goal from NBC/CBC. I like Kenny but don't see him immortalizing any goals either.

Go to 3 minutes in. For me, this was when I had Center Ice, but they hadn't really started showing both feeds yet, so I only got the home team's feed. So this is what I was watching.

Edit: Honestly, looking back at that video now, it was definitely a bigger deal at the time than it maybe should have been.

LOL that's still hilarious.

Chico's always been butthurt about the Rangers' success.

The closer you get the bigger the goal/moment no matter what. If it happens in game 5 to move on, that is the biggest moment. If it happens in game 1 in the final, that is a bigger moment than the latter and so on.

I'm shocked!
Your posts suggest a lot more experience than that!

I'm beyond shocked! FULLY flabbergasted.
If I hadn't picked up on some clues earlier, based on all the excellent research you come up with for the vintage years, I would swear your as old as Mr. Atoz!:yo:

My top 5 Ranger moments:

1. Winning the Cup
2. Matteau Double OT winner 1994 ECF Game 6
3. Gaborik Triple OT winner 2012 ECSF Game 3
4. Richards and Staal 2012 ECSF Game 5
5. Anisimov's goal @ Pittsburgh in November 2010

Number 5 I have to explain. I lived in South Africa for several years and was not able to watch the Rangers. No internet at home and all. The goal Anisimov scored was in the 1st game I watched after coming back to Holland. It was a very emotional moment. I had the Rangers to fall back on after my divorce and return from SA.

and Richards' goal saved us from being down 3-2 heading to WSH Without that goal we essentially don't even make the ECF. Plus the whole clutch factor with 6 seconds to go and all.

I have to agree with this. The Richards goal came out of nowhere, and at the time the Rangers were having a really difficult time scoring. It was painful to watch them. That goal was incredibly exciting.

The St. Louis goal from the other night was awesome too, but once he received that pass and was wide open, it seems like days before he took the shot. It was almost a sense of relief that he didn't miss. It was exciting to end the game in overtime, as it always is.

But for me the Richards goal was bigger and more exciting.

And nothing will ever top the Matteau goal for pure excitement. That ended the greatest playoff series I have ever seen, and the excitement of going to the finals off of that goal, first time in 15 years (at the time) and coming a couple of days after Messier singlehandedly kept them alive.......you younger guys are deprived from not having seen that live as it was happening. Amazing.
