Excited to watch tonight for the first time in about 3 games.

Allen finally gets his shot. Hopefully if he plays well, he can get another start, and if he continues his play, we can see him back-up Halak for the next season or so and then take the reigns.

I'm all for Allen in goal tonight, but I wouldn't get too excited. His AHL stats aren't superb to say the least. Lundqvist wouldn't even play well behind this squad.

I expect a loss. Good luck to Jake Allen. Maybe he'll pull of a rookie-in-the-zone moment. It does seem like playing in front of a rookie making his first start is a good way to get the team more focused on playing solid defense. Ugh, I don't want to watch the RedWings win another game.

Or maybe having a rookie in goal is what this team needs to play with a passion.

I'm simply looking for progress in this game. If we win aweseom. If we lose, we better play some Blues hockey like we did for stretches of the game against the Ducks.

don't have a good feeling, but its not Allens fault

anyway, it all started in Detroit and if we see some Peskyblues-hockey tonight we could end it tonight in Detroit...go get em boys!

It sucks that Allen has to make his first NHL start behind a team playing like the Blues are and against Detroit, no less. I think we'll see a better effort from the team tonight but I still think it'll end in a loss. Hopefully going back to the original lines is a sign that Hitch thinks it's time to stop switching things every game.

I'm excited to see our original lines again. Hopefully we can get off to a fast start and get the crowd out of it early. We shall see. Detroit's playing well, and we're not. Big test! Let's go Blues!

So I just noticed that according to the picture lineup, we are only rolling four defensemen tonight??

Lol, somebody forgot Jackman and Shattenkirk.... :help:

At this point, I'm willing to try pretty much anything...

Remember, Mrazek made his first NHL start last game.

You never know....

thats what I think too, lots of young goalies look good so far in their first few games this season

its just a bit different because the urgenzy to get out of this slump and get some good tending could put too much pressure on him, we will see...I just hope the best for him!

Yeah, teams certainly have less of a book on Allen, its not unheard of for a young goalie to stonewall a team. But Detroit is a rough team to be making your first start against.

Blues gotta start scoring, we are getting owned 5v5.

Glad to see Russell back. He's a good player that had a great playoff run but has had a brutal start for whatever reason. I know he was injured during the lockout but that was way back in October I believe.

Regardless, I've had enough of the Redden experiment for a while.

Good lineup. We'll see what happens with a new look in goal.

The downfall of the Blues may truly begin tonight. That being said, I believe this slump is all in their heads...Have to be the "Work Boot Blues" to get through this.
