Hopefully boys bounce back today

Losing these games can also have a massive negative effect on their mentality moving into the playoffs.

After my previous comments, now I'd be content with a split vs the Spits. Geez. Windsor came to Soo to play and got 4 big points with their 7th win in a row. Division title out of reach now. Battle for 3rd vs Flint wont be easy to gain. But our Hounds have a favorable schedule coming up and a big 2 game series vs. Flint to end the season that could decide 3rd place. Now time to just get on a roll and play some good hockey going into these last 8 games into the playoffs.

Anyone got any news on the injuries of mignosa and montroy? We need that depth in the lineup. Also scoring.

anybody still think i'm just being "negative" saying we're an easy 2nd round out? lol

we haven't seen any consistency between the pipes since our last cup run, and we rely too heavily on our top 5 or 6 veterans. while kerins, kartye, mckay, o'rourke and thompson are some of the leagues finest players, our younger players just aren't consistent enough yet to put us into the top echelon of teams. and the playoffs is "neckbeard" season. another missed opportunity to build for the future just so ownership can get a few extra games of playoff revenue.

this trend of being "good" but not "great" will continue as long as Raftis manages the team this way. and in the mean time we might get to watch Hamilton win ANOTHER cup while we're just okay.

I think if they had Dickinson they are right there with any other team in the Western conference.

Dickinson would undeniably be a huge help but we were giving up 4 or 5 goals a game when he was playing. I made my 2nd round exit prediction before he was injured. Injuries are a part of hockey so if one player is going to make or break your season you aren't deep enough.

windsor playing there 6th game in 9 days.
greyhounds off all week before facing windsor. The hounds looked more like the tired team for one.
also, windsor 5 on 5 play was outstanding all weekend, The hounds were kept to the outside, no one got near
the front of the windsor net, wasn't the case with the greyhound d zone coverage.
savard outcoached dean.
dean hands are tied with line-up but rory kerins playing way too much, he may burn out by time playoffs come around.
in fact dean depends on kerins, kartye, mckay line way too much.
in order to beat windsor must trust 14 &27 more with minutes as those are 2 forwards who could match up physically with windsor
who seem much biggger, stronger, and push people off the puck way too easily.
hounds missed mignosa in line-up.
as for the defense, o'rourke & calisti need to stay more focused and poised. no need to chirp constantly after whistle. Play physical
whistle to whistle and not get thrown off your game when play is stopped.
ivanov over tynan i believe should be the # 1.

Mignosa will help. He was also hot with 6 points in his last 5 games. Him coming back into the lineup will definitely help with depth and provide that secondary scoring. Hopefully he can help this team in playoffs which creates 3 lines that can put the puck in the net. Then allard with savard and Watson have been working well and they can stay together. This means mcconell barker can play with mignosa and maybe they can duo up and get hot together and possibly be difference makers. But as Dale said, playoffs is a neck beard type of hockey so we will see. I definitely still think if we had Dickinson we really could’ve finished higher in the standings

Well, I feel like I might be forced to eat my words come the second round. I agree with everything said in post mortem of the weekend. Playing Kerins' line too much. Need to roll Allard and Savard more. We know that Dean likes to ride his horses into the playoffs, we saw him ride the top two lines when Frost was here. I was hoping this year would be different as we appeared to have a great top 9 shaping up, but that was not a masterclass on how to manage your bench.

At this rate, the prospect of facing Windsor in either the second or third round has got to be in the players' heads. If they can't overcome it, it will be a short series.

I both agree and disagree here. If they were willing to add Thompson, I thought they would add more up front too. Dickinson isn't just an average player though. Depth doesn't replace one of the better forwards in the league. There is always a bit of luck involved in a successful playoff run and the hounds have been hit with a few unfortunate injuries both now and in the past. I agree about the goals against though. The struggles in the crease have been real.

Nothing posted on the OHL website for O'Rourke and his slew foot. I was assuming he would get the 2 minimum for it and Soo plays tonight so if he is getting anything would have to be resolved today?

I still maintain this year was an opportunity to send out a veteran or two in exchange for a 17 year old(s) and picks just like I said we should do in 2018-2019. Trading someone like Frosty or Hayton in 2019 would have provided a highly touted 17 year old and picks that would have made us stronger this season.

And moves we could have made this year would have been the added pieces to build around McConnell-Barker. So in 2 years when we are once again "good" but not "great" expect me to bring this up again... and again... and again...

Hopefully at some point fans get sick of the "good but not great" rut the hounds are putting themselves in, and hopefully at some point the fans will admit that simply drafting well is not enough, especially when you can't draft a starting goalie to save your life.

If you want a different approach, you need to get rid of Lukenda. He seems quite pleased with the successful winning record. Raftis is just executing the plan.
