teams can only have X amount of 2o year olds on their rosters and teams are very conservative about giving up those spots--so the decision to go to they AHL was not completely up to the oilers--someone can correct my but I think teams can only have 2 or 3 overagers on the roster at any given time
You are correct, but I don't know how many teams would say no to Martindale, hamilton and Pitlick. They were guys that teams make room for our if their current team had no room potential trade for them.
