Maybe it's a patronage hire, but even so he may very well prove competent anyway. Buff's description above makes it seem like this isn't a position where experience is a ironclad predictor so I'm not going to grouse until he deserves it

Eh, it's not like someone hired him to be the head of player personnel or something. Ellis still has a rep as being very diligent in his work habits. Maybe it's just me, but it would be nice to see some dogged and yet still upbeat people within the organization. *shrug*
