It's false news by Jatkoaika.
http://www.iltalehti.fi/smliiga/2013080917351002_sm.shtml
SM-liiga name stays, logo gets updated though.
So it seems. Iltalehti's news is updated also.
I like the arrogance of this.
"You pitiful minor sports can use your lame prefixes, we are The League"
Well, SM-liiga didn't refer to a sport either.
Well it´s easy to fill in sponsors name into it. Karjala-Liiga or Länsi-auto-liiga or Lännen puhelin-liiga.
ES(Euro Shopper) Liiga would be more appropriate.
But still that looks better than the previous one with weird font
ps:
is it a coincidence that Swedish and Finnish leagues have major name changes at the same time?
1975 division 1 -> elitserien / sm-sarja -> sm-liiga
2013 elitserien -> shl / sm-liiga -> liiga
Lüga
Reaching for the German market?
Seriously. I saw Lüga when looking at the logo and thought "what the h*ll?"
The old one is actually quite nice,,, What is wrong with it?That's worse than the old one. Jesus.
