Every win has value. A winning mentality is exceptionally important for the development of the youngsters. They won't make the playoffs because they just aren't good enough. But them really believing they can and playing for it is nothing but good for the present and future of the team. The feeling around the team is seemingly so much more positive recently and that is hugely important.

Of course. I love seeing the players buy in, that's what they should be doing and what I want them to be doing. They needs to be playing and developing and wanting to improve. I have no concern about what's happening at the player level.

However, I think that management needs to think very carefully about how they want to proceed from here. They shouldn't make rash decisions because we've had a few nice games.

Henrique says Devils are in the race. "We're going right to the end."

So many Deboer blown leads...ugh. As bad as this team is they probably get in if Hydra was coaching all year:laugh:

You say "Hydra" and I say "Coaching Mafia". :sarcasm:

Thing is that while they have done a very good job at home under Hydra

There isn't much reason to believe they can keep it up because there road record is still widely inconsistent especially against tougher teams.

March has a lot more road games and a lot more tougher matchups.

They can in theory and it isnt that impossible for them to cut it to 5 or 6 points by the end of the month with all the home games and a mostly easy schedule.

Odds also say they don't keep it up in March. Tougher opposition and more road games.

Arizona is really the last "easy" home game of the year if you look at it. Calgary has given us trouble. Then we go Boston, Nashville, Columbus, Philly, Pittsburgh, NYI, LA, Anaheim, Montreal, and the Rangers to close out the home schedule.

Flames at home is very winnable. Boston is struggling really badly so them at home is also winnable.

Jackets are not a good team. Philly isn't either.

Rest are tough but we did beat the Kings in LA so there is that.

Just as they are winnable. They also are equally losable. All the teams except Phoenix are in the Devils point bracket.

They're definitely winnable games. I just don't trust this team to follow through. Sure, we pull out a win against a good team every once in a while, but most of our wins come against equally inept teams, and even them we barely beat most of the time. I'm fully expecting to lose one of the next two against Arizona or Calgary, and then probably get dominated by Boston again.

They aren't gimme loses though. It would be no surprise if we won those games.

The rest of this homestand is favorable.

The toughest team was the canucks and they won that one.

What a nightmare driving to the game was today. Took over 2 hours when it usually takes 45 minutes but it was totally worth it. Yet again, Larrson is showing he is one of our best D-men. Really felt bad for Kinky when he got hurt but I just read on F&I he is ok and will be back for Monday which is great news. Overall It was a pretty damn good game and we are 8 points out of the wild card race. Weird but true!

The highlight of the night was Lou's comment on if Cory got injured!!!

@TGfireandice

Lamoriello said Chris Terreri would have been the emergency backup if something had happened to Schneider after Kinkaid was injured.

With Deboer they would probably lose against the weaker teams more often.

We haven't gone beyond 3 in a row in over 2 years. A 5 game streak would be the second coming of Christ. This is the worst case scenario, we're just gonna get close enough to believe we can sniff the outside of the playoffs and end up with a worse draft pick.

People talk about not wanting to sell, well that's not an option, we don't have anything to sell, that's why we suck so bad.

So what do you want the Devils to do? Lose?

Tough for me to say I'm too happy or all that pissed. Really, I just feel weird because these wins supposedly instill a good mindset into the guys who are here and will be a part of the future. But I still also feel like it ****s us over.

I think the problem with the team is a matter of both talent and approach. But getting the most out of the core guys is hell of a lot easier when one of them could be a massively talented playmaker or sniper.

Some of these guys is our number one goalie for years in his first year as a starter and The young cornerstones to our defense.

Ya we need forwards but everyone forgets that defense and goaltending is as important if not more so and we have that but need to develop it properly.

Lars development is way more important to our future then whether we pick 6th or 9th overall this year.

Sure, I'll agree with that.

I do think all of us would love to see the team's identity executed at high-skill, fast-paced level in every zone. At some point.

Losing a point to Nashville that late in the regulation and losing to Edmonton both really hurt now.
