Comparing to other punishments never makes sense for suspensions in this league. I think at face value not looking at other incidents this seems about right. Maybe 2 games.

Called it in the game day thread. Seemed like a 3 game penalty.

If it was someone like Ovechkin or McDavid the NHL would have apologized for penalizing them.

I figured 2. I was close. Like I said, if they gave Matthews, one of the biggest stars in the league 2 games for what he did to Dahlin then I figured Jeff would at least get that. Not really that surprised he got 3.

Seems fair. The rule of thumb is to take the penalty Crosby gets for shattering Marc Methot’s finger with a slash or spearing Ryan O’Reilly in the groin and add a 5 minute match penalty and 3 game suspension to that.
