It's a maybe from a realistic point of view but you're not going to get a hockey nut like Crosby to just walk away from the game on a maybe.

Marc Savard's write up on how crushed he was leaving the game is a snippet of what the game means to these guys.

Crosby should do whatever he wants. He can walk away from the game right now as one of the best ever and a 1st ballot HHOFer.

That said, fans shouldn't be Sid's doctor, that's silly.

Sidney Crosby,

He's done it all. He's won Lord Stanley, Art Ross', the Conn Smythe, Gold Medal.
He's a first ballot lock for the HOF. He has nothing to prove to anyone and he's made more money than he knows what to do with.

What is the value of his health? He needs to take a long hard look on the next 50 years of his life. Does he want to live a life with pain and darkness? I think Crosby should retire and maintain what health he has left.

Love,

Arturs Irbe (not the real one)

from a health standpoint he shoudlve never been a hockey player. or at least he should've retired after the Olympic gold medal

but he has A LOT left to prove as a hockey player

Lmao what does crosby have to prove as a hockey player? Literally has done it all

Quitting now is the difference between being viewed as a top 20-10 all time or a top 5 all time. I think he cares about where he fits in in the history of the game
