At 35, Weber is really struggling right now. He's having a really hard time playing the minutes he is playing and is not an NHL top pairing D anymore.
Maybe he had a bad game today and OP didn’t bother to checkShea Weber Stats | Hockey-Reference.com
5 goals 12 assists 17 points +6 playing 22:51 on average per game entering today's game. And for corsi fans 53.9 CF% while having a 51.0 dZS%
Unless I am missing something I would say he isn't worse then a #2 quality defenseman
He's still good. Not his fault Montreal leans on him so hard
same can be said for everyone from that 2003 draft class. Except for Fleury I guess. That shit was a long time ago.
Averaging 20 minutes a night with 17 points and plus six going against the top lines is still pretty damn good. He has always been a turn over machine and an ugly skater for his entire career. Most of his points have always come from his shot rather than his very average playmaking. Saying he is not an NHLer is mind boggling to me.
At least he's better than PK.

Just overpaid with way too much term. Its the same Weber just older and a bit slower. A solid defenseman.
Forget top pairing. If he was a no-name AHLer playing the same way he's playing now, I don't think he'd even get a regular roster spot on most teams.
Except no one actually said this? The OP claimed that he wasn't a top pairing defenseman, not he isn't an NHLer anymore....
