Another possibility is that fixing whatever this hypothetical injury is would require season-ending surgery, and so Bouw and team management collectively decided that Bouw at 70% or so is better than no Bouw at all.

It was 22nd November when Jbo get injured. He came back 11st December. So surgery would put him out over 7 month, that he cannot get back before post-season? I don't understand.

Considering it was a groin issue and we seen what Shattenkirk went through. I've got to doubt it's a physical injury. Anything minor (less then kirk) he would of done the surgery that early in. Anything worse and he wouldn't be playing at all.
