Toffoli is only signed for 1 year. I don't think this says anything about Holtz's future.
It certainly has an affect on this season. And at this point every stretch he spends in the stands or Utica drops his value. He’s getting to the point where he needs to be playing in the NHL as a 7th overall pick.

Holtz should be kept. Injuries are something that happens.

Great deal, not quite sure what Calgary is thinking here but maybe that's the market. Toffoli was obviously worth something like a late 1st, but Sharangovich is only RFA for this year and next and getting a 3rd round pick isn't enough to make up the difference between the two.

Makes no sense to sign + trade + retain for Yegor.

Just send him to a team that wants roster players (WPG, CGY).
I assumed that Rango would go to a team that wants a roster player, like Calgary.

But I'm really surprised at the return. They got a legit top-six forward back.

More good work from Fitz here.

Could be Tyler didn't want to be there anymore.

If your the flames you want a late first or a 3rd and a 15-20 goal nhl now player? That first round pick is total crap shoot they are already ahead of the curve and could flip shara for sometbing bigger if he produces

We turned a pending UFA who wasn’t gonna re-sign and an RFA forward who no longer had an appropriate role on this team into a veteran 30 goal scorer for at least one season.

You know I always stick up for Lou based on what he did at his peak…but back in the day we would have just lost these players for absolutely nothing in return. We are a far cry from those days.

Do have to wonder if a Holtz trade to recoup assets would make sense. Our top 6/9 where he kind of would need to play is pretty damn full.

Shuffle as needed to mix things up. Toffoli is kinda slower so maybe he will fit better with Holtz?
