I'm intrigued by our new strategy of signing guys to big AHL deals and moderate NHL contracts. Theoretically it gives us the options to have better call ups, and looks like a good way for a budget team to build depth.

Sabres/Amerks fan coming in peace. Glad to see the local kid getting good AHL money. Going to suck seeing him murder the Amerks for another season again though.

Good for him. Another contract down, a few more yet to go.

Hopefully Price gets a longer look this year.

I think he has a good chance to make Ottawa's team.

I'd have him over greening,Neil,Smith at this point.

While I confess that I do not know all the ins and outs of the waiver process, I do believe a 2 way contract is 100% irrelevant.

You are correct. 2 way vs 1 way only outlines what the player will get paid in each league. Waiver eligibility is a completely separate entity.

Expecting him to make the jump full time this year, he's come a long way from his 67's days and i believe he is seasoned and ready to go.

yeah i think he has reached the level he was at in the ohl, in the ahl. So, now ready for nhl. could be a 60+pts guy. excited to see what he can do. good eventual macarthur replacement i think.

That's actually a great comparison that i never thought of.

yes
He'll definitely be in the NHL out of training camp. Hopefully because of his play and not so he doesn't go through waivers.

I like Prince, but don't think he'll ever be a 60+ guy. I see a ~40 point guy that is scrappy. A Clarke MaCarthur lite.

Buffalo will grab him off waivers, no question. That area would sell many 100s of tickets when he came to town, even with Binghamton.

One year deal lets him prove he belongs, and at what level. He needs to stick with the big club (take Condra's spot?). Puempel can still start (and I expect it will be so) in Binghamton and will be a quick call up after injury or trade.

This is a good deal for Prince and the Sens. Now they need to use him and let him show his worth. And he can play RW if needed.
