Don't Hold The Door
I voted for Chabot, but any of Prince, Puempel or Paul have a case here as well.

Tobias Lindberg will surprise a lot of people.
Should I add Wideman? I decided not to because I don't think he counts as a prospect anymore according to HF rules.
Paul-- future 3 liner at best
Puempel future 3 liner at best
Prince future 3 liner at best
White 3 liner center at best

Chabot could be a blue chip prospect

It should be about both closeness (portfolio) and ceiling (pedigree). Rank each on a scale from 0 to 10, then multiply the two, and you got your ranking.

For example. White is not very close to NHL but his potential is like Bergeron
Im a bit more hesitant to choose guys who were just drafted as they are so far away and anything could happen in the next few years
I will save it for the memories. On what exactly this ridiculous statement is based on?
White has a potential to be the next Mike Fisher. And happily traded after. As many the first round picks are traded before him as failures. All 8 American born first rounders were traded and did not play for the Senators. How dis for the stats??
History does not teach a thing to some people.

In my opinion, I believe the opposite. A prospect we just drafted has potential to become anything, a first line star, all the way to a total bust. For example; look at Stone, when he was drafted no one had a clue he could develop into this. In terms of prospects, the longer a prospect has been in the system, the more you understand about the prospects overall potential. With Stone, the Sens brass must have seen this potential, as he put up some crazy numbers in the WHL. They always spoke very highly of him.
And this is why I pick White as our number one prospect. He had a rough year in terms of health, yet still was a first round pick in a pretty decent year. I think there is a lot of untapped potential in him. It will only be seen whether he can reach this potential if he develops or not.
This list is about prospects, and that means who is the best in terms of prospective talent, not who is closest to the show
Exactly how do people not get this.
Rank prospects based of READINESS and POTENTIAL.
Potential cant really be defined. I mean Prince and Puempel might be able to become 1st line wingers...is it likely? No... but so far on every team theyve played on theyve filled that role. White might be a 1st line center....Is it likely? No... When it came to Stone there were some ifs when it came to what he could become. Stone cleared those ifs one by one and became a better prospect and then a good NHL player.
I have no problem with the way to evaluate its just for me White's ceiling is hard to determine atm and currently most people see him as a middle 6 center. He could be more but so could other prospects
Chabot/White are better prospects than Puempel at the same age
Seems some are easily swayed by age and experience. Puempel may be closer to the NHL than most of the guys on this list, but I have a hard time believing he has more upside than others on this list.
Add Cannone.
