I see things differently. Our 3 needs at forward are more significant in order to become a consistent playoff team and a top 8 team in the league:

And then there is the defence, where we need to upgrade the 2nd pair but help is on the way with Sanderson coming later this season:

Sanderson - RRRR (could be Thompson or JBD)

EDIT: I forgot to add Formenton to LW on the 4th line; however, I think Formenton could turn out to be much better than that and rise to the 2nd line in the future. I would also like to get a big physical center on the 4th line to replace Tierney.

It is only frustrating if your expectations were that this was going to be a near or playoff team this season. The team has needed an injection of top end talent since it traded away its top end talent.

Thought he was the teams best player along with Formenton and Mete. If that's the case then it's gonna be a long night. Hopefully they can keep it up. But the rest of the team needs to be alot better.

I don't think Sanford should be offered a contract for next season based on his performance so far. He needs to get more involved in the game.

Sanford is definitely a placeholder; I am not sure he will be replaced by Parker Kelly.

EDIT: However I would rather watch Kelly hustle than Sanford plod!

I think we still need a #1C, #1RW and #1RD to become a really good team.

EDIT: The rebuild is not over IF the objective is to become a top 8 team.

I agree with that. I think we target a number one centre. That’s priority one!

At this point I just want to see playoffs I have be grateful to see the Oilers make playoffs but being swept and losing in the first round two years in a row isn’t a ton better lmao.

Hopefully, the Oilers will improve and go deeper into the playoffs soon. I remember watching them when they had Gretzky and the boys. They lost to an older vet team in the WHA, to the Jets, but then matured into a powerhouse team in the NHL. I am an old Jets fan who remembers those teams.

I know and have a fear of what will happen. We will make the playoffs and win a series or two, but never win the Division nor the SC.
