That's easy...score more goals!Osgood helped blow it for a historic team in 1996.
There were 7 HHoF'ers on the 1998 Wings.
So what would it have taken Ottawa to overcome Osgood and how many chances would he get to blow before he finally won?
In the 1996 playoffs Detroit averaged 3 GF and 3 GA ; the numbers our losses come no where near either of those. Imagine if we could have averaged 3 GF a game instead of....0.75.
I strongly believe our forwards made the other goalies look better than they were. Notice how often the goalie we faced had there save % drop in the next round.
Hasek .963 - .918 (-45)
Joseph .942 - .923 (-19)
Joseph .976 - .898 (-78)
Joseph .917 - .937 (+20)
Brodeur .932 - .925 (-7)
Belfour .954 - .887 (-67)
Brodeur is the only one that looks normal.
Totally agree Andy achieved more with less.
