That's too bad about Lee. I expect good things from him. Hopefully...

Mick Hatten over at the St. Cloud Times reported on his blog a few days ago that Lee could be returning as soon as around the end of the month/early Feb. because his rehab is ahead of schedule.

At least some GOOD news on the Huskies front for a change!

They need to get some of the bigger natives in the state eventually. It's hard to believe with all the legends they've had (Hedican, Cullen, Malone) they've only had ONE NCAA tournament victory in their history. :help:

Two more forwards go down tonight in Cory Thorson and Jordy Christian. Unlikely either willl play against Minnesota so we are now down to 10 forwards for at least 1 week. When it rains....

According to Motzko, on further review of the kicked in goal, it should have counted. After Hanowski kicked it, he got his stick on it. Hanowski didn't feel it hit his stick and you couldn't see it from the overhead view but other views showed it clearly. Oh well.

Got Thorson and Lee back, lost Novak who was in a cast after the game so we are down to 10 forwards again but I love this team's compete level. They just will not quit.

Can't believe Motzko is still there. Seems like he's been there forever. Look forward to the game tonight at the National Hockey Center. I always loved watching the games there when my brother in law was captain and my little sis was there attending.

I'm just wondering, can someone here tell me if the Gophers recruited Ben Hanowski? I am curious.

I know he was the state's all time leading scorer but he played in a weak league.

Just want to know if they recruited him or not. :)

Possibly lost Oliver and Eddy due to hits last night. Both were called 5 minute majors and Woods got a game DQ for his hit on Eddy so he is out tonight. But if they don't play, we are down to 8 forwards, exactly half of what we started the season with on the roster.

They were bad hits no doubt.

So where do they pull players up from? I've never understood where college hockey calls player up from but my only guess is the USHL and other junior leagues.

There is no place to pull anyone from except maybe former high school players already at school. Classes are well underway in the 2nd semester, no one can be brought in.

I can't believe that with 9 forwards, they swept in Madison. Well done boys!

Mike Lee named WCHA defensive player of the week.

Joey Benik named BCHL player of the month for January after posting 29 points (10G, 19A) in 10 games.

Penticton has also broken the BCHL record for consecutive wins, picking up their 30th in a row last night.

This is going to sound bitter but whatever. Cam Reid's reason for leaving was a chance to play on Portland's top line. That lasted all of 3 weeks. He's now on their second line, the same place he was here. Good on ya Reid.

Novak will be back, Oliver out, LeBlanc out and though he is practicing in a no contact jersey, I don't expect him back this year. Rumored LeBlanc will red-shirt and come back for a 5th year. Lee will start Friday and if he stays hot, may very well start Saturday too.

In other news, Final Five tickets came. :) anyone else attending?

Complete dog **** effort last night. Deserved to lose even though the final goal was kicked in. They'd better wake up tonight.

Likely playoff destinations are now CS, Omaha or Houghton. Three places I think we can win.

I think after that OT loss to DU on Saturday, the Mavs might be a PO'd bunch heading to the NHC. It looks like Lee is starting to return to form, and IMO that'll bid well for SCSU. Then again they always have Mr. Clutch Faragher, if Lee can't get it done. ;)

You'd think they'd have been PO'd well before that since they've lost 4 straight and are just 4-8-2 since Jan. 1. Hanowski has been great in the 2nd half and we are finding scoring from other places. I will be shocked if we lose this series.

Never doubt a Blais coached team but with that said I say your Huskies in 3.
