The Wild will step up to the plate on this one
While they did net 3 pretty good players in the tank era, imagine what they could get with lottery picks in the 2021-2023 seasons. Drafting Wright, Michov/Bedard, would be much better return. That would be a Crosby/ Malkin or McDavid/ Drai combo. Then again, they'd be looking at a cup in 2030 rather than these few years. The Sabres tire fire from 2013-15 netted them 3 very high picks in consecutive years.
Rasmus Ristolainen 8th overall in 2013
Sam Reinhart 2nd overall in 2014
and Jack Eichel 2nd overall in 2015
Now in 2021, they are just as bad if not worse, all these guys are in their mid 20's and rumored to want out.
I dont know how Sabres fans can take it. Even a playoff appearance would be a treat.
Sam was a good Soldier wish him nothing but the bestI hope what ever team he ends up on misses the playoffs for 10 years..

Should be a Bruins target 100%
Every time he has been up for a contract it has been a nightmare with this guy the next one will be even worse than Skinner's no doubt.. He has never been happy on this team look at every single interview he has done.. So he turned it up in a contract year so what..
SolidCanucks 1st (top 7 pick) + Podkolzin + Eriksson (cap dump)
Great offer for Reinhart.Canucks 1st (top 7 pick) + Podkolzin + Eriksson (cap dump)
Would absolutely do this if i was Sabres.Canucks 1st (top 7 pick) + Podkolzin + Eriksson (cap dump)
Great offer for Reinhart.
I would like Calgary to give a try as well.It strikes me as too much if you don't have a center spot for him. So I don't think Vancouver would offer that. I think Minnesota and Columbus would be the highest bidders.
If Reinhart is traded the return won't be anything like McAvoy. Let's be real here. BUF has gotten far less than market value for their big pieces. You giving us McAvoy? Because otherwise not interested in giving a guy who played like a 1C down the stretch to a division rival.
You may be thinking to yourself "But he can just walk to UFA next year. That's ridiculous." And it damn well may be. That's the point.

On top of that, McAvoy's value is a good deal larger than Reinhart's.
If Reinhart is traded, it's not going to be to a division rival unless the price they pay is stupid.
"If Reinhart is traded, HF Sabres fans hope it's not going to be to a division rival unless the price they pay is stupid."
That's fine that you want a stupid return. The Buffalo front office though is the one making the trade and they've shown that they will make deals of starts and not require a stupid price for it.
You just traded a guy who is scoring at a 40 goal pace to a division rival for a 2nd rd pick.
