gus is nice but this would be different game with Lindgren playing a little worse

If anything, his pure technical game is not one of his strongest assets (relatively speaking compared to other NHL starters - obviously he's miles ahead of all of us). He's really good about challenging to cut down angle and make himself look big (which are technical skills), but what sets him apart during this stretch is his strength and compete-level. He sticks with every opportunity until its bitter end, and sometimes displays some really impressive core strength to maintain his posture while in a scramble situation.

They weren’t great throughout the game tonight, but they also probably deserved a better fate against Dallas.
Really impressed with Jensen and Orlov. If Leonsis’s decree is to keep pushing forward then re-signing both of those guys is a no-brainer. You can’t lose your two best defensemen and expect to remain competitive.

Maybe, but that’s hockey. Would have been a different game on Thursday if Oettinger didn’t go god mode.

Really hope Ovi breaks through with 801 and 802 soon. The team can get back to just playing rather than trying to force the puck to him. Felt like there were several opportunities to just go for it rather than look to pass to #8. I get it but...

he’s gonna break it december 23rd, backstrom’s homecoming. the script is too good for it to not be an ovi ppg in backstrom’s first game back (in all fairness, i expect it to happen sooner than that, both team we play before then’s goaltending is not pretty to say the least)

, actually four goals if I remember correctly in 1993. Yeah, I know regular season, lol. Caps in 93 had a ton of goals by defensemen that year. Hatcher, Iafrate, Johansson, Cote.

Actually less. But I have liked Gus and JC74. I like Orlov and Jensen. Fever and TVR will be a good top 6. Still like to see Johansen.
That was vintage Sammy tonight btw. He looked exactly like he did with is the past few years.
