He has 18 goals in 30 games in the A. He’s three behind the league lead with 8 fewer games played.

I’m not calling him McJesus. But Id say that qualifies as having some pedigree as a guy adjusting to pro hockey.

My point is, NHL teams aren't going to be knocking down our doors to get him. He's a good prospect, but nothing more. He's not proven at the NHL level yet. Not enough to where he'd have huge value.

Because:

A. Kane and Hornqvist are both extremely good players.
B. Kane and Hornqvist are the kind of wingers that mask Sheahan's weaknesses extremely well and complement his style of game.

What's your evidence that they wouldn't be incredibly effective together? Sheary-Sheahan-Hornqvist worked really well earlier in the year, Kane in Sheary's spot is that original line on massive steroids.
I'm not asserting one way or the other, you're asserting something that you can't possibly know. There's no evidence to support that claim. You're stating something that is your opinion as fact.

I mean yeah it’d probably work but what if other things aren’t working and you need to change things up. Does L3 become ineffective again?

If you have to cater to a player that much it’s best to find someone else.

Sheary-Sheahan-Hornqvist was a pretty small sample size too a few games at most.

Yep, If we got Kane we have no idea what line Sully would put him on. My guess is he'd play in the top six, but we can't know for sure.

I would find some other way to do that, one that doesn't include taking apart the 3rd line if it's working. You have Simon, Rust, Guentzel, Hagelin, Kessel and Sprong as guys you can try on those top-2 lines if you need to find something that works. I'd exhaust those options and then consider splitting up the 3rd line.

We have currently 1.2 in cap space so you can use full AAV’s and add the 1.2 mil onto Rowney/Cole.........I think
Here's how it works, if we make a trade say tonight we can take on approx a million dollars more than the team we trade with. So if say we want someone who's a five million dollar cap hit we need to send four million out. That doesn't take into account salary retention however.
