Simon’s bad is better than Sprong’s bad from what I’ve seen. This season Sprong has been mainly awful.
Every player, situation is different too. Different positions, skill set, form etc. You can’t treat everything the same.
I’ve made no bones Simon is my guy for years, but I’d be quite dishonest if I didn’t admit he had some really bad moments last season and thankfully got to play through them.
I’ve been very, very adamant for years that young guys need to be allowed to play through their mistakes if you want to eventually get their best.
You want to constantly bench a guy for his mistakes, fine.... but why is a young kid on the trade block when you have only watched him as a coach play 20 NHL games?
Guys that pot 30 goals as rookies in the A don’t end up on the chopping block this early. Still trying to find a situation where it’s happened TBTH.
Hmm...
