I mean, if we didn't just sign Girgensons, this would be fine. They kinda occupy the same space though....
My thoughts also. Which leads me to believe my other thought, they're still cluelessWhat this tells me, is that Curtis Lazar is the new Larsson.
Girgensons is better than Reider. By a lot. Sigh.
Way too early to know. Maybe Girgs will slot in on line 3; or maybe Girgs is moving to centre and line 4 will be Rieder/Girgs/Okposo.
Rieder is a good penalty killer, which was an issue last year. Flames fans seem disappointed he wasn't kept for the 4th line.
Would make a great 13th forward. And you could do worse with your 12th forward.
We have 3 13th forwards (Lazar, Okposo, Rieder). At least 2 of them will be consistent roster mainstays this upcoming season. This is the state of the team.
I have a feeling our bottom six will be:
Girgensons-Lazar-Okposo
Rieder-Cozens-Thompson
It looks a lot better if you re-sign Larsson and slot him in for Lazar...
I could live with Okposo, Girgs, Lazar and Rieder as our 10-13 forwards.
Lazar really worked on getting better at faceoffs. He got progressively better. He won 51.2% last season. We need someone who can at least pretend to win a faceoff in there (and on the PK). Lazar, Girgensons and Rieder are all awful at it.
In no way should Cozens be on the 4th line. If he cannot make the top 6, he needs to be back in junior
