It's the combination of going with three journeymen and the likely outside hope that Luukkonen would be ready this season but looking back at keeping Hutton last year after years of that Bott-fail being on the roster has the whiff of dead fish stink.
-Going into 2020-2021 with Hutton was a mistake.
-Not attempting to make a deadline move for a goalie knowing Ullmark was sketchy on staying was a mistake.
-Not using the expansion draft to get a goalie was a mistake.
-Not having any back-up plan for failing to sign Ullmark was a mistake.
This is why I prayed for Flower/Krebs in Vegas-Eichel deals before he went to Chicago. I know retirement would've been a fear, but I knew once Ullmark bounced, we were screwed.
