Nico, Jack, Timo all been hurt at some point. Awful goaltending, replacing Graves / Severson with a defenseman like L. Hughes has left a crater sized hole in their willingness to play defense.

As unsatisfying as the Sabres have been, with inconsistent and poor play. A lot of the league has had similar starts.

The fact that we’re .500 despite some horrible decision making from both Adams and Granato , and crippling injuries to Thompson and Quinn, is somewhat impressive.

Dahlin played 28+mins vs the Jets before we went to 11/7. Then 29mins vs Hawks. Then 27 annd 26mins the last two games. The Jets game was his best of the season to that point and first time we saw the guy from last year. He‘s paid to be that guy. It wouldn’t be very smart to restrict his minutes because of dressing 7 dmen.

And UPL has only played in 50% of the games.

The funniest aspect with all the whining about dressing 11/7 is that we earned 5 of 6 pts doing so in the last 3gms. Should have been 6 of 6 but we blew the Caps game.


So your complaint boils down to our top franchise dman was used like one. How dare they!

I don't care about Dahlin's minutes, but they've played pretty mediocre hockey the last three games so I think the 11/7 criticism is fair. It's just as much about off-ice decision making as how they're handling the D heavy line-up.
