As for the rest, don't go confusing us with things like "facts." This is knee-jerk emotion time! What's that useless SOB Ward ever done for us? In fact, I want proof that it was Ward who was our goalie during the Stanley Cup. Just because the jersey said Ward doesn't mean it was Ward! I demand to see the long form lineups from each game! I suspect it was one of either Tom Barrasso, Martin Gerber, Grant Fuhr, or Patrick Roy who was *actually* wearing that jersey and that equipment.

I literally turned my radio off in the middle of that call because it was THAT unlistenable. It was either that, or be the guy who talks back sarcastically to the guy on the radio.

I mean, if someone wants to bag on the goalie, that's fine... goes with the territory of postgame call-in shows. But that guy went full Pejorative Slur for about 5 minutes nonstop.

Awesome GDT! Here's hoping the Canes play to match the awesomness of it tonight. As I'm under the weather I'll be watching it from home - as this is one of the three SportsSouth games, how can I tune in? (As in what channel *is* Sportssouth. I don't think I've ever seen it before)



No. It's one of those "local legend" sort of places that gets by on its name alone (along with Big Ed's City Market Restaurant). It's one of those small local Southern restaurants where at one time power brokers and politicians would cut deals over their blue plate specials and that's about all that's notable about the Mecca. You can have much better food elsewhere. I'd recommend Chuck's (burgers), Beasley's Chicken + Honey (down home cooking featuring chicken and waffles), Sitti (Lebanese), Gravy (Italian), Busy Bee (kind of eclectic/new American), Raleigh Times (pub grub), The Pit (BBQ) or Centro (Mexican) LONG before I'd recommend Mecca.

Hah. You beat me to it. I love that Mecca exists, but the food just isn't that special.

I, of course, want to beat Buffalo, but I'm concerned our guys won't come out of this one alive. For two games, I saw lack of physicality. The one game I saw of Buffalo vs the Flyers, they got big and tough. They will throw us around like rag dolls, so the canes better stop hiding behind their mommy and fight back.

Here's hoping the Buffalo transplants behave, but we'll likely have the paddy wagon full of them by games end
